Luva Nahid Chowdhury read out a citation describing the works and contributions of Dr Anisuzzaman.
The organisers gave a painting by Rokeya Sultana as a gift to Siddiqua Zaman, who has always been supportive to the scholar.
‘Everyone loves to receive awards and I am not an exception,’ said Anisuzzaman in presence of the august audience.
‘The joy of getting such recognition gets even greater seeing people surrounding me happy,’ said Anisuzzaman, adding that getting civilian awards from the two states would make him more responsible.
‘But I don’t know how far I will be able to carry on my responsibilities at this stage of life,’ he said.
The discussion session was followed by presentation of different genres of songs by popular singers like Laisa Ahmed Lisa, Bubul Islam, Iffat Ara Dewan, Aditi Mohsin and others.
