New Age make winning start
New Age cricket team got off to a winning start in the Walton-BSJC Media Cup Cricket Tournament when they defeated New Nation by three wickets at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. New Nation opted to bat first after winning the toss and scored 92-4 in the six-a-side-affair. New Age’s Ahmmad Foyez bagged two wickets while Saad Hammadi and Ahmed Deepto picked one wicket apiece.
In reply, New Age reached 93 for 2 with three balls to spare. New Age captain Mohiuddin Alamgir made an unbeaten 39 while opener Jakaria scored 16 and Mortuza remained not out on 12.
Later Mohiuddin was adjudged man-of-the-match for his match winning knock.
In the other matches of the day, Dhaka Tribune beat The Daily Star, Daily Sports beat Bangladesh Television, Natun Samoy TV beat Jamuna TV in their respective matches.
