Jatiya Party-backed candidate Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa has won the mayoral race unofficially in the Rangpur City Corporation elections.
Mostafa, under the symbol “plough”, secured 146,798 votes defeating his nearest Bangladesh Islami Andolon candidate Amiruzzaman Pial, who secured 49,892 votes under the “hand fan” symbol, according to the voting results of 229 centres announced by Returning Officer Abdul Baten.Read more on The Daily Star
